About Me
Hi! I’m not an author. Or an illustrator. I'm actually a chemist—so unless we’re talking molecules or lab coats, I’m way out of my lane here.
During the COVID lockdown, like many desperate parents, I read hundreds of children’s books to my young son. And one thing kept standing out: farms. So many picture books made farms look like the animal version of Disneyland. Cows smiling, pigs sunbathing, chickens living their best lives.
It didn’t sit right.
Because in reality, farms aren’t exactly five-star resorts for animals. I wanted to write something that changes that narrative. I wanted kids (and grown-ups) to start asking questions, like: "Wait... you mean chicken the food is the same as chicken the animal?!"
I also took some creative inspiration from the song Bullet by Hollywood Undead—one of those deceptively upbeat tunes that sneaks in a heavy message. That contrast really stuck with me, and I tried to do the same: keep things light and fun on the surface, with something deeper underneath.
So here I am, a chemist with no artistic talent, writing books about farm animals. Life’s weird like that. But if my books spark a meaningful conversation between you and your little one, I’ll call that a win.
